My time at Growing Oshkosh was a great step towards my career after graduation. I was able to use the things I learned in the classroom and apply those concepts to the real world in a safe learning environment. Through Growing Oshkosh I was able to gain knowledge and experience that I will appreciate and build off of for the rest of my career.
My greatest take away from this experience would be the confidence I gained. Whether it is about gardening, teaching, or professionalism, I now feel a few steps closer to the real world after graduation. The experience I gained while working with Growing Oshkosh has made the real world after graduation a little less scary.

"My internship through Growing Oshkosh was an awarding experience. I have acquired life long skills from gardening work such as composting and sowing seeds to effectively teaching large groups of children. Growing Oshkosh works with your schedule, making sure you have enough time for school and other things going on in your life. I highly recommend applying for this internship!"

My time as an intern at GO allowed me to see the important relationship between local sustainable agriculture and community strength. Experiencing this relationship develop over a few short months shows how powerful one small organization can be. My greatest takeaway was being able to practice educating others about agriculture. In school I was the one being educated, so it was eye opening to go through the process from the other end. Very beneficial in building leadership skills and also just being able to communicate with the community around me.

Growing Oshkosh is a wonderful organization that truly helps our community, and I am extremely thankful that I had the opportunity to work with them. I honestly learned so much about gardening through Growing Oshkosh. I loved that I had an opportunity to work with kids and share my new knowledge. I think it's a wonderful idea to have gardens at every school.
